International Students House Covid- 19 Statement

Dear Members and Friends,

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and following advice from the government, we have decided with a heavy heart to close International Students House to the public until further notice and will continue to follow government advice.

The safety and security of our students, audiences and staff are, ultimately, all that matters.

We exist to be open, to support our students, to entertain and inspire. Our doors are made to be open to the world, and so it goes against everything in our nature to close them. But these are not normal times, and we find ourselves in a unique situation where closing our doors is the best way to look after the world.

We will continue to post on our social channels, so please follow us, and we’ll share some things to lift your spirits.

We will also post updates on our websites, so stay tuned. No gigs will take place for the time being. All our bars, meeting spaces and cafe will also be closed to the public.

We thank you for your continued support of ISH during these uncertain times.

Take care of yourselves, and we’ll see you again when this is over.

Please do check the latest advice from the NHS for your own health and welfare and follow standard good hygiene practice such as:

  • Cover your mouth and nose every time you cough or sneeze. Use a disposable tissue if possible and dispose of it in a bin
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, especially every time you cough or sneeze, or use an alcohol-based hand-sanitising product. Most of the bathrooms at the Hall have sensor-activated taps
  • Avoid touching your face with your hands
  • If you have a general cough/cold, avoid close contact with others such as hugging or shaking hands
